This 2nd Day of the Luis Palau Festival
provided another opportunity to proclaim the gospel to quite a few
people. According to news accounts, around 100,000 were in attendance. About 140 Bible tracts were given out throughout the day.
Those that received these tracts expressed a desire to have them.
No tracts were shoved into reluctant hands. In addition, the 20 tracts I
had placed in a folder on a big sign attached to my truck had all been
taken by the time I returned back from the Festival. (To view some
copies of these gospel tracts, please go to the following link:
"Publishing the Gospel.")
More than 50,000 people or more passed by me on the sidewalks clearly seeing the big sign proclaiming the important gospel message: "All Churches are now spiritually dead! Believers must now flee the churches. God's judgment has come!" Over 20 conversations took place with those desiring to discuss the gospel message being proclaimed by the big sign. A few of the conversations centered around the truth found in Galatians 2:16, a verse which explains that we are saved by the FAITH of CHRIST, not our own faith. Other conversations led into what the role of the word of God is in salvation. (For more information on this topic, please go to the following link: "Does the Physical Word Save?") During some of these conversations I could see fear in the eyes of those hearing about God's judgment. Over 400 cars driving slowly South on Himes Avenue by the Raymond James Stadium, including heavily loaded buses, also clearly saw the big gospel sign. In closing, here are some comments from some of the conversations I had concerning the gospel message being proclaimed... *As I was sharing with a lady about the two Jerusalem's in Galatians 4, likening the one below to the Children of Israel who perished in the wilderness, this lady completed the verse for me, saying, "with them God was not well pleased." She gladly took a gospel tract.
*In
one small group I shared the Biblical truth that reading the Bible or
gospel tracts for as long as one lives would not get one saved unless
you are one of God's Elect. One lady then replied openly, saying,
"Yes, that is right."
*After
talking with the last small group of people, a husband and wife
approached me. I told them that was all for today and that I was
going home. However, they replied, "We just got here. We did not hear
what you said to the others." This reminded me of the account of
Jesus and his disciples in Mark 6:36,37. The disciples were advising
Jesus to send the multitude away "to buy themselves bread." Jesus
replied to His disciples, "Give ye them to eat." As I began sharing
some truths with this couple, the wife began hugging her husband
tight. The husband, himself, listened intently, a very serious look on
his face. He also seemed to be asking sincere questions.
Well, I do thank God for yet again allowing His gospel to be declared openly. May His perfect will be done. |
